Lorraine, the “successor” of the medieval Lotharingia, is one of the most colourful cultural regions of France. Bordering on Germany, this région in the north-east of the country has for centuries been an area where two cultures (each very diverse in itself) have met and clashed. The very profile of Le Concert Lorrain represents this duality of attachments, with two artistic directors: the French Anne-Catherine Bucher and the German Stephan Schultz. Founded in 2000, the ensemble have enlisted the participation of such artists of world renown as Andreas Scholl, Carolyn Sampson, Christoph Prégardien and Peter Kooij. Further, Le Concert Lorrain have established close working relations with other ensembles, among them the Dresden Chamber Choir, the Cappella Amsterdam and the Dutch Chamber Choir.
